Grace Cosmos is an LNG ship built at HHI Shipyard in Ulsan South Korea and delivered in March 2008.
Is the third ship built out of a series of three sister ships, the other two ships being Grace Acacia ( also under GAZOCEAN management) and Grace Baleria.
The vessel is registered since delivery at the Port of Nassau, Bahamas.
Grace Cosmos is under GAZOCEAN management since July 2010.
Vessel is MARK III membrane type LNG carrier provided with a steam turbine and can carry up to 150 000 m3 of LNG cargo.
First cargo was loaded at Bethioua, Algeria in April 2018 for Montoir, France. Since then the vessel loaded cargo in various ports all over the world in countries like Algeria, Egypt, Yemen, Norway, Qatar, Nigeria, Trinidad Tobago and Indonesia including reloading operations in France and South Korea. Discharged cargo operations have been conducted in in most of Europe LNG importing countries , North and South America, Indian subcontinent and Asia Far East area.
The ship is an Cadet training vessel for NYK. It can accommodate on board up to 20 cadets together with an Training Instructor and catering personnel dedicated for cadets. Both deck and engine cadets can be trained on board. Training program last around 3 months and is composed of a study and theoretical daily teaching held in a lecture room dedicated for cadets use followed by on board job training for the rest of the period.
So far 23 batches of deck and engine cadets, coming from Romanina, India, Philippines, Indonesia or China have been trained on board in over 10 years of service. After the completion of training period the cadets will join as officers in NYK fleet.
