GAZOCEAN, since its creation, has manned and operated a large number of methane (LNG) carriers and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers, some of which have marked this history of this industry:


  1. 1957

    R.Boudet formed GAZOCEAN SA

  2. 1963

    Technigaz (TGZ) is founded

  3. 1964

    Pythagore (600m3) 1st LNG ship with membran tank is build

  4. 1965

    Jules Vernes (25000m3) owned by Gaz Marine (GDF) operated by GAZOCEAN

  5. 1969

    GAZOCEAN ARMEMENT SA a subsidery company to operate French flag ships

  6. 1991

    MESSIGAZ (GDF) and CGM captured 25% each capital of GAZOCEAN ARMEMENT

  7. 1994

    GAZOCEAN SA is dissolved GT and TGZ merged in GTT

  8. 2003

    GAZOCEAN ARMEMENT SA is renamed GAZOCEANSA

  9. 2004

    MESSIGAZ (50%), GDF int. (50%) and NYK Line (20%) share the capital of GAZOCEAN

  10. 2006

    Delivery of Global Energy (75000m3) 1st DFDE LNG ship in the world

  11. 2007

    GAZOCEAN moves to Marseille

  12. 2017

    GAZOCEAN celebrates 60 years

  13. 2018

    GAZOCEAN joins the TOTAL Group through its subsidiaries Global LNG and Messigaz

  14. 2020

    ELISA LARUS joins GAZOCEAN's fleet

    GAZOCEAN is now a 100% NYK's subsidiary

  15. 2021

    The fleet is growing :

    March - LNG Adventure

    September - LNG Enterprise

    October - LNG Endeavour

    GEOGAS LNG acquires a stake in GAZOCEAN.

    Elisa AQUILA joins GAZOCEAN's fleet
