ADVANCED TRAINING IN CARGO OPERATIONS FOR LIQUEFIED GAS TANKERS
TARGET AUDIENCE
Captains, officers and ratings serving on oil tankers and liquefied gas carriers.
PREREQUISITES
• Certification in basic training for cargo operations on liquefied gas tankers.
• Valid seafarer medical certificate stating fitness for duty, issued within the last 12 months.
OBJECTIVES
– Be able to safely carry out and monitor all cargo operations
– Have a good understanding of the physical and chemical properties of liquefied gas cargoes
– Take precautions to prevent risks
– Apply health and occupational safety precautions
– Respond effectively to emergency situations
– Take precautions to prevent environmental pollution
– Monitor and ensure compliance with regulations
DURATION
36 hours / 5 days
Minimum of 6 hours of simulator training

– Gassing‑up, cooling‑down, loading, unloading, reliquefaction
– Simulator: loading calculations using Loadmaster
– LNG operations: loading and unloading
– LNG simulator: loading, unloading, NO96 LNG carrier
– Ship‑shore terminal procedures
– Safety, emergency procedures, risk prevention
– Case studies of accidents
